As a Patient Support Technician, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, providing support to the nursing staff and assisting with the personal care and hygiene needs of patients. Your responsibilities will include maintaining unit supplies, collecting patient data, performing necessary medical tasks, and helping patients with daily activities. This role also involves communication with various parties and contributing to the overall quality of care.
- Ensure smooth function of the unit by maintaining supplies and equipment
- Collect and document patient data as directed
- Perform vital sign measurements, blood glucose monitoring, and intake/output recording
- Assist patients with daily living activities and prepare them for transportation
- Facilitate communication and update patient information as needed
- Assist in other areas of the hospital as required
- Provide support for patients requiring constant observation
- Contribute to the unit's growth and the delivery of high-quality care as part of the healthcare team
