In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the ongoing management of clients, retention of new and renewal clients, and maintaining a partnership with the producer to support business development activities while upholding high service standards.These duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining relationships with multiple insurance companies/MGAs to negotiate and obtain quotes, binders, endorsements, etc.
- Cross-selling products to potential customers
- Managing an established book of accounts
- Negotiating renewals for existing customers
- Obtaining information and documentation from new and existing clients
- Resolving customer issues
General Lines Insurance Account Manager responsibilities
- Independently manage accounts on a day-to-day basis which includes coordinating all services, answering all questions, and resolving problems.
- Negotiate and secure the most appropriate carrier coverage based upon client needs for new and renewal business and negotiating the cost of those coverages; maintain ongoing relationships with carrier product managers.
- Work closely with sales teams to understand the client and/or prospect's needs, submit coverage specifications and obtain quotes from potential carriers for new and renewal business.
- Determine appropriate client service support for new and existing clients; respond to client and carrier inquiries, maintain, and enhance the company's relationships with existing clients by executing proactive and ongoing contact initiatives.
- Make decisions regarding the resolution of all moderate and complex customer service problems, research and resolve coverage issues, audit issues, and billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Independently enter and maintain accounts/policies while maintaining a current suspense; review insurance policies and endorsements for accuracy; review contracts and special certificate of insurance requests for compliance and response to insured.
- Proactively maintain a partnership with the producer by keeping him/her informed of pertinent information regarding the accounts.
- Responsible for ensuring all the terms and conditions of the insurance policies are properly prepared and provide all the coverage that was presented to the insured in the proposal.
- Independently communicate subjectivities and exclusions for new and renewal business and document the difference in policy forms when comparing various quotes.
- Use specific industry training and knowledge to determine the needs of the client and identify cross-selling opportunities; expand/round-out existing accounts by identifying potential gaps in coverage and recommend and implement proper coverage.
- Research and maintain industry knowledge of developing trends.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned accounts to give proper advice for changing situations, which may require modifications to existing coverage.
Personal Lines Insurance Account Manager requirements/skills
- Current Personal Lines Account Management experience
- Appropriate insurance agent's license REQUIRED
- High School diploma; undergraduate degree preferred
