The right Safety Compliance Specialist checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator. The Safety Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with the applicable local, state, federal, industry, and company safety standards. This will be accomplished by auditing records, performing site visits, interviewing Hosts, and investigating incidents and accidents. This host will serve as a resource to other teams to support their safety programs through collaboration, training, coaching, and auditing. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable. Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits in accordance with the HFE Safety Division Auditing standard with the goal of preventing Host and Guest injuries
  • Serve as a member of the Safety and Security PIC team (101)
  • Participate in the park's Safety and What If Committees
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Conduct safety training classes
  • Assist with the annual property wide procedure reviews
  • Assist with special events, photo/film shoots, etc.
  • Assist with the investigation and root cause analysis of accidents and incidents
  • Assist with conducting initial safety reviews and equipment training prior to set-up of special events and new construction projects
  • Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards
  • Develop facility inspection programs to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure safety regulatory compliance
  • Conduct or coordinate workplace training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents
  • Maintain knowledge of industry standards and attend industry-related seminars and meetings to remain informed and involved

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Specialized training or bachelor's degree in a safety- related field preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required (Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel) required
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding occupational safety is required
  • Must have or obtain within one year OSHA 30 or comparable certification
  • Must have or obtain within two years NAARSO and/or an AIMS Level 1 Certification
  • Must have or obtain within one-year ServSafe Food Manager Certification

  • Must be able to work at elevated locations including ride lift hills
  • Stooping, bending, high level of manual dexterity for operating small tools, walking on uneven ground, pulling, pushing, etc. required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
