Primary Function: The Mental Health Director will be an integral part of the Train & Earn program team, dedicated to addressing the mental health and well-being of program participants.This individual will be primarily focused on providing guidance, counseling, and supportive services through both group and individualized interventions. The ideal candidate will possess the relevant licenses and experience in mental health counseling and supervision of mental health staff, to effectively support the needs of youth enrolled in the program.Salary Range: $90,000 to $105,000 - salary is commensurate with education, training, and experience.Duties and Responsibilities:Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Conduct individual and group counseling sessions as needed to address the mental health and well-being of program participants. Assess participant needs and make appropriate referrals for additional support services, such as drug and alcohol counseling or long-term mental health therapy. Document all interactions and referrals in funder database system.Input program data, including enrollment and demographic information. Keep accurate data, maintain participant records, is detail-oriented, and organized as related to paperwork. Cultivate relationships with hard-to-recruit youth and young adults in the community.Might support with the facilitation of additional workshops and services to help ensure that youth are engaged post program during the follow-up period.Staff supervision: Conduct weekly structured supervision of case managers and/or interns and weekly staff meetings Ensure all case notes, bio psycho-socials and goal plans are completed and of high quality Develop direct reports to improve their practice Model development and maintenance of key collaborative relationships Ensure data collection is timely and accurate Qualifications: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State and from an accredited school of social work Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a relevant field Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mental health counseling/ trauma-informed care Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with diverse youth populations, particularly Out of School Out of Work (OSOW) youth.
