Working Environment

- Use knowledge of shipping and receiving dangerous goods, chemicals, biologicals, gasses, and CDC controlled Select Agent program
- Use knowledge of handling USPS and intercampus mail, small packages, freight, chemicals, biologicals, lab equipment, supplies, gas cylinders (inert, toxic & flammable), liquid nitrogen.
- Inspect deliveries for recipient name, notating damages, keeping goods in their controlled setting, dealing with biological sample containers, chemicals, lab supplies, lab equipment and taking delivery piece counts.
- Take part in the inventory control process for delivering items to the labs and keeping metrics.
- Take part in the sustainability and recycling processes and expectations of ASU.
- Drive a transport cart, a facility van, and/or a forklift at times
- Travel across campus to other research buildings as required
- Interface with ASU EHS, ASU Gas Services, Matheson Gas, Mission Linens, Air Gas, ASU Central Receiving, ASU Mail Services, ASU Recycling/Zero Waste, and other various ASU Departments as well as, UPS, FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, DHL, World Courier, freight companies, and various vendors.
