The Field Services Technicians responsibilities include installation, programming, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of IP-based physical access control (PACS), intrusion detection (IDS) and video surveillance (VMS) systems for high security applications within the DOD, DOE and other military installations. The individual must also possess advanced network communications and personal computer architecture and software experience. They will have strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, be goal oriented, ambitious, accept empowerment within boundaries, and desire to work within cross functional team environments. Ability to present a professional image and commitment to customer service are essential.
Responsibilities
Serve as Site Lead/Site PM will oversee all service activities at a designated service location. Site lead works closely with the assigned project/program manager to achieve on-time, under budget project completion.
Technical Trainer that provides system operator, administration, and maintenance familiarization training on various systems.
Systems Engineering to ensure compliance with system design criteria and specific government/end-user security requirements.
Field services technician to Perform implementation, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of system malfunctions.
Create test documentation and perform Contractor Verification Testing (CVT) as well as Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) for system implementations.
Coordinate with vendors to resolve 3rd party product issues encountered in the field.
Lead and train coworkers and junior technicians
Prepare and submit activity reports, including daily project reports to the Director of Services and the assigned project manager.
Provide telephone technical support to internal technicians as well as customers, as assigned.
Perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change
Preferred Qualifications and Credentials
CompTIA Level I/II Certifications including:
o Security plus Certification
o Network plus certification
Cisco CCNA, CCDP or other Computer networking and related control system software experience desired
VICADS VMS or other video management systems programming & configuration
Honeywell-Vindicator, Lynx Predator Elite, ADVANTOR or other IDS and access control certifications
Strong working knowledge of government and industry standards for security systems
Other Minimum Qualifications
Available for frequent travel (75%)
Pass a drug screening and criminal/credit background investigation
Able to obtain a US passport and ability to travel abroad
Able to obtain a SECRET security clearance
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication ability, in the English language
Clean driving record with the ability to operate Company-owned and rental and cars, vans and service vehicles
Education Requirements
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
Formal military or civilian low voltage electrical and/or electronics training highly desired
Minimum of 5 years of installation, programming and testing of physical security or physical access control systems.
