Job Description :
Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Production Control & Logistics Lead will work with Manufacturing to manage work-in-progress (WIP) and plan future work to meet financial plan. This role will work with Manufacturing Manager to learn facility capabilities and capacities required to plan accordingly and be responsible for all required internal/external actions and documents required for shipment of customer goods from our Commerce Drive facility and third-party service suppliers. In addition, the position is also responsible for inventory management and providing necessary assistance to the Procurement, Engineering and Inside Sales teams. What You'll Do
  • Maintain knowledge of the location of every part in WIP and at what stage the part is in the manufacturing process
  • Maintain Knowledge of all levels manufacturing demand created by the Sales Back Log / Financial plan
  • Lead weekly Planning meetings Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Inside Sales
  • Use ERP Tools (MRP based) as well as tools outside of ERP to monitor demand, manage WIP, and create required by manufacturing, such as job routings that will need to be released with adequate quantities and due dates to support due dates and Spincraft's finical plan
  • Monitor status of work-in-process jobs to identify problems with shortages or overages, and promptly communicate with appropriate parties to develop prompt solutions
  • Have a daily presence on the manufacturing floor to monitor for interruptions of plan
  • Work with engineering to maintain and document (Job Routing) changes via a change notice in a timely fashion
  • Review completed jobs for missing transactions and post transactions accordingly
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout the Production lifecycle
  • Post inventory-related transactions promptly; including receipts to stock and issuances to jobs
  • Lead regular cycle counts of stocked for selected programs
  • Create appropriate documents including packing slips, shipping labels, Commercial Invoices (CI), Shipper's Letter of Instruction (SLI), etc.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of shipping and receiving in the Commerce facility, while working within the confines of a union environment
  • Execute the flow of paperwork of incoming receipts and outgoing shipments, and ensure transactions are recorded timely and accurately
  • Execute a wholistic knowledge of the product lifecycle from product launch to shipment
  • Manage the inventory of tooling and implement/maintain a system for locating tools
  • Prepare for and participate in an efficient annual physical inventory with minimal quantity adjustments
Team Responsibilities:
  • Provide necessary support to the Beloit Road facility as needed
  • Work in tandem with Manufacturing team, delegating daily logistic tasks as needed
What You'll Bring:
  • Experience working with Epicor strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of logistics experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2-4 years of production planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other related degree
  • Strong preference for prior contract manufacturing experience, as well as third party logistics
  • Proficient knowledge of international shipping requirements
