This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate coach who wants to make a significant impact on the lives of high school student-athletes while fostering a winning culture. Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive football program that aligns with the school's mission and values.
  • Coaching and Development: Lead all practices, games, and team-related activities. Provide mentorship, guidance, and skill development for athletes at all levels.
  • Recruitment and Player Engagement: Identify, recruit, and develop athletes within our building. Foster a positive team environment focused on discipline, hard work, and personal growth.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the athletic director, assistant coaches, school administration, and parents to ensure smooth operation of the football program.
  • Game Strategy: Prepare game plans, analyze opponent strategies, and make in-game decisions that support team success.
  • Fundraising and Community Engagement: Help promote the football program through fundraising efforts, community outreach, and maintaining strong relationships with local supporters.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Head Football Coach or College Assistant Coach preferred.
  • A deep understanding of football strategies, techniques, and player development.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and manage student-athletes.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with parents, school staff, and the community.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A background in coaching high school football or coaching at the college level.
  • Experience in program administration, including budgeting, scheduling, and travel coordination.
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations of high school football as set by Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) and the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS)
  • College degree preferred.
  • State of Michigan Teacher Certification or equivalent preferred.
