Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizing tasks and preparing sensitive and detailed correspondence.
  • Drafting routine and non-routine legal documents, including standard pleadings, court filings, and forms, as well as presentations.
  • Supporting litigation efforts, such as preparing witness and trial binders, handling deposition logistics, managing e-filings, and coordinating exhibits.
  • Managing the billing process, including time-entry, data review, final submission, record-keeping, and resolving billing disputes.
  • Scheduling appointments, arranging travel or meetings, and maintaining business calendars to ensure deadlines and appointments are met.
  • Establishing and maintaining organized files, while managing original client documents in various formats.
  • Preparing and filing documents with courts in both hardcopy and electronic formats while keeping current on filing requirements.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with a focus on litigation support.
  • Proficiency in e-filing across various court systems and experience using Pacer and other court-specific electronic filing platforms.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, intermediate to advanced abilities with the MS Office Suite, and strong aptitude to learn additional software (e.g., Adobe, Best Authority, eFiling systems, DocuSign, PDF software, and cloud platforms).
  • Experience with document management systems (iManage Work preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail for proofreading, editing, and transcription of legal documents.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • The ability to support multiple individuals and manage priorities effectively.
