Job Description :

SUMMARY

The Employee Development Specialist manages the Learning Management System (LMS) and oversees comprehensive employee development programs, collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and deliver training solutions. They facilitate workshops, support new hire orientation, and design assessments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and addressing strategic needs for skill building and career progression.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:

  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the LMS, ensuring an effective and user-friendly platform for training and development.
  • Manage user roles, track participation, organize training records, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Generate reports and analyze learning data to assess training engagement, performance, and overall effectiveness.

Training & Program Development:

  • Design, develop, and enhance engaging trainings using instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to address current and future organizational needs.
  • Lead the implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of employee development programs, partnering with leadership to identify skill gaps and provide guidance on career pathways to enhance engagement and retention.
  • Incorporate a variety of learning formats, including workshops, virtual sessions, and e-learning modules, to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Work closely with SMEs to develop accurate, relevant content that supports skill-building and job success.

Facilitation and Delivery of Training:

Facilitate workshops and virtual sessions, tailoring methods to diverse learning styles while providing coaching and support to ensure practical knowledge and ongoing skill development.

Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs):

Manage cross-departmental collaboration to develop training programs that address broader organizational objectives, including leadership development, performance management, and technical skills enhancement.

New Hire Orientation (NHO) and Onboarding Support:

Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of New Hire Orientation and onboarding programs, ensuring smooth integration into the company culture and alignment with long-term employee development and retention strategies.

Surveys, Assessments, and Evaluations:

Develop and administer assessments, surveys, and evaluations to gather feedback, measure effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement, while analyzing results to provide actionable insights and execute improvements for continuous development across initiatives.

General:

  • Travel up to 25% required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Training & Development, Instructional Design, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • 4+ years' experience in instructional design, facilitation, or employee development with demonstrated experience in leading training initiatives and program design.

Skills:

  • Expertise in multimedia authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline) and e-learning technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; experience with Teams and SharePoint preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design models, with expertise in facilitation techniques for varied learning formats.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated leadership in project management, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive initiatives, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and survey creation tools (e.g., Qualtrics) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish is optional but preferred.
