Job Description :

Fives Maintenance North America is looking for qualified Maintenance/Automation Technicians to join our team in Normal, IL. These positions will initially be contract-based roles with the potential to be extended long-term.What You'll Be Doing: Build, commission, and troubleshoot automation systems and acquiring experimental data Equipment may include but is not limited to: PLC/HMI, Adhesive/Sealer Dispensing Systems, Robots, Vision Systems, Laser Welding Systems, etc. Work with complex electro-mechanical systems and transition these automated systems from the prototype to production phase Perform mid to expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance This includes but is not limited to: Observing devices in operation to location root cause of problem; Dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; Examining parts to detect imperfections; Adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; Repair and/or replacement of defective parts; Testing of device to observe performance; Performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; Reconditioning and repairing machine tools Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items as necessary Independently perform maintenance as per industry standards May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations Including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts May perform welding tasks Comply with 5S and housekeeping standards Drive and participate in CI activities - processes, results, and cost savings Update records and reviews CMMS history Troubleshoot and analyze control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration problems Utilize predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data Provide assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to small teams Perform more advanced functions as a part of training and development Complete on-the-job and technical self-study programs for career development Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditionsRequired Experience & Qualifications: 3-5+ years of maintenance/automation technician experience in an automated manufacturing environment Understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze problems and perform repairs A good understanding and knowledge in PLC communication and programming Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate Hands-on experience in building/troubleshooting automation systems and acquiring experimental data Demonstrated success at planning for and project managing equipment or facility installations Experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems Experience transitioning automated systems from prototype to production Experience with 2D & 3D software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Catia) Battery experience preferred but nor required Experience with either of these preferred adhesive dispense systems (Nordson, Atlas Copco), laser welding process, high volume automation, Keyence visionOther Skills Required: Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly Communicate effectively with direct team and peers within a manufacturing and engineering organization. This includes exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines of multiple simultaneous projects and challengesAdditional Information: These will be in-house positions, minimal if any travel Candidates must be willing to work 2 nd shift/night shift
