Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that the facility's equipment (filler, capper, labeler, case sealer, case printers, drop packers, palletizers) and machines are maintained properly and working correctly.
- Conducts routine facility inspections, logs equipment operating parameters and adjusts equipment as required.
- Execute the facility's maintenance program; identifies and analyzes equipment or machinery failures and takes corrective actions.
- Provides technical training to production team members.
- Support the coordination of work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
- Assure that all safety systems are working properly, fans, alarms, gas detectors, fire suppression, etc.
- Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs to heating, ventilating, air conditioning equipment according to instructions such as replacing belts on motors, changing filters, bearings, etc.
- Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
- Minimum 5 years mechanic experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess an active forklift certification.
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at a time.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
