Who we are looking for: We are currently looking for a Dispatcher / Receiving Coordinator to be based out of Kokomo, IN.Reporting to Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for coordinating distribution functions for shipping/receiving, scheduling, record keeping, dispatch, and inventory management. What you'll do:
  • Dispatch all incoming and outgoing loads for the facility.
  • Arrange carrier pickup and deliveries while managing shipping cost efficiently.
  • Schedule freight deliveries and arrange pickups for RMA processes.
  • Maintain daily shipping schedule.
  • Track shipping/receiving metrics.
  • Own shipping and receiving functions including transacting orders and receiving in goods against purchase orders.
  • Partner with Human Resources to manage EFM and oversee employee engagement activities to include luncheons, holiday celebrations, and outreach initiatives.
  • Manage daily delivery logs.
  • Prepare and deliver training materials and presentations to include orientations, annual compliance, and safety trainings.
  • Participate in 5S and collection data.

  • All other duties as assigned.
What You'll bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree with business focus preferred.
  • Two (2) to three (3) administrative experience in a manufacturing setting or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards, is a plus
  • Knowledge of Flatbed, Conestoga, LTL, TL, and containerized shipments
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory systems.

Within 3 months, You'll
  • Complete any required training.
  • Respond to inventory inquires.
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
Within 3 months, You'll
  • Understand distribution center management.
  • Have a strong understanding of metrics used to assist management.
  • Manage purchase orders including data entries into Basware and JDE systems and send paperwork to accounts payable for processing.
Within 12-months, you'll:
  • Assist in entering data for Environmental, Health & Safety related activities.
