Additional Preferred Skills:Clinical assistant with 3-5 years working for a health insurance company as a clinical assistant or similar in a utilization management or customer service department.This position will float between provider fax loads and phone call caseloads from providers on a live pre-cert line.The position will also require the non-clinical review and completion of some case types through to authorization, including government required letter generation and document notification to applicable parties within a CMS mandated turn-around-time.Ability to set customer friendly but firm boundaries with providers on the phone and at times provide outreach to providers.A track record of highly detailed & accurate work.The position duties could shift often based on the current team schedule/absences/business needs & volume.Job ResponsibilitiesScreen incoming calls and/or faxes or other digital format for UM and/or CM and direct calls/faxes/other digital requests to the appropriate area. Identify and refer cases appropriately to the Case Management and/or Transition of Care department.Receiving, investigating and resolving customer inquiries and claims. Maintain departmental goals. Perform projects, review and handle reports as assigned.Load complete organization determination/notification for services designed by internal policy. Clearly document and key data in to the appropriate system using departmental guidelines.Interact with membership, hospital and provider staff, advising of UM decision, status organization determinations, requesting additional or clarifying information and giving direction as necessary.Search for and key appropriate diagnosis and /or procedure code as part of the notification /prior authorization process.This job requires digital literacy assessment.
