POSITION PURPOSEThis position is responsible for selling the credit union's products and services to provide members with all financial services appropriate for their needs. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to work as a team member, have a proven sales record, be able to analyze member problems and also find beneficial solutions for members and makes a commitment to provide quality service to members. This position meets with members to build relationships, gains, and understanding of their needs, assists in opening all types of accounts, determines loan eligibility, handles consumer loan/Visa applications and closings.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIESDetermines eligibility for products and services by analyzing debt ratios and determining credit worthiness and ability to repay through accurately completing new account and loan applications for members. Maintains authority to approve, process and close loans meeting quick loan guidelines.Works with IRA Direct to complete IRA transactions and troubleshoot problems. Administers on-line banking sign-up requests and responds to member inquiries through website.Meets or exceeds defined sales goals set by management.. Presents and explains credit unions products and services to members and assists in meeting their financial needs. Opens and closes accounts, (which includes share accounts, IRA accounts, safe deposit accounts, investment accounts, business accounts, etc). Orders checks for members' accounts. Answers questions and solves problems for member by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party. Resolves member bookkeeping and checking account problems. Takes stop payment orders. Receives and directs members and telephone calls. Responds to inquiries and questions if possible or directs them as necessary. Records and relays messages. Keeps members informed of credit union services and policies, including types of available accounts, interest and dividend rates, payroll deduction options, and other related services. Maintains and projects the credit union's professional reputation. Maintains privacy of members account information. Actively cross sells credit unions products and services. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS Teller and Financial Service Specialist functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures. Monies are balanced and any discrepancies promptly resolved. Good business relations exist with members. Members' problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved. Good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and with management. Assistance is provided to other Financial Service Specialists and staff as needed. Supervisors are appropriately informed of area activities. Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely. The Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.
