The Town of Cohasset is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) to work in its Tree and park Department. Reporting to the Foreman and serving as part of an integrated Public Works operation, the Tree & Park HEO will perform skilled manual work in operating heavy equipment used in constructing, maintaining, and repairing Tree & Park equipment. Work includes the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment and vehicles. Requirements:
- High school diploma, or the equivalent in experience, and a minimum of and two (2) years of advanced technical/vocational training and experience in the operation of heavy equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Class B CDL driver's license paid for by the town provided the candidate agrees to at least 3 years of employment.
- Hoisting Engineer's 2B, 4E and 4G licenses
- A valid DOT Medical Examiners Certificate or willing to obtain upon hire
- Safe and effective heavy equipment operation techniques and practices
This position is represented by a collective bargaining unit and is 40-hours per week, Monday- Friday. Salary: $27.69 per hour (with CDL), $25.18 (without CDL) with annual performance-based step increases and cost-of-living (COLA); Cohasset offers a comprehensive benefits package.
