  • Role has the support of the Business Analysis team but allows for the individual to deliver results through their own achievements
Role ResponsibilitiesManagement of Month End Close
  • Oversee the month-end management reporting process, including the communication of required deliverables and timelines to the Canadian business; providing guidance on the Purchase Order process, and managing the Brand Investment process to ensure the accurate reporting of A&P expenses
  • Prepare and upload required journal entries to accurately report monthly Brand Investment spending, adhering to internal control requirements
  • Maintain and manage the monthly reconciliation of applicable GL accounts
Business Partnering to Sales/Marketing
  • Provide outstanding business partnering to the Sales and Marketing organization, providing key decision support analysis and participating in key business decision-making
  • Provide financial and business education, training, tools, and templates to the Sales and Marketing teams with the goal of improving the teams' overall business and financial acumen
  • Identify new opportunities to proactively provide value-added business decision support and exercise influence on business decisions
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for Sales and Marketing as well as provide support and guidance for the completion of value added business and market insights by these teams
  • Analyze monthly Provincial P&L performance vs. Plan and vs. LY, providing insights on key business drivers by market and by brand
  • Play a key financial role in the analysis of strategic projects including innovation assessment, price and promotional effectiveness, and various commercial projects and market opportunities
Long DescriptionNational Pricing Administration & Coordination
  • Analytics to support business partners in setting annual pricing strategies. Post-mortem analytics of price changes. Support business partners in driving long-term revenue growth
Systems and Industry Relationship Management
  • Manage the relationship with the 3rd Party depletion reporting provider, including identifying and liaising on the correction of data accuracy issues as well as working with them on new development opportunities
  • Act as the primary contact for all interactions with the Association of Canadian Distillers, including confirming the availability of and accessing monthly liquor board data, completing the annual membership fee assessment forms, and managing ad hoc requests as they arise
Management of the Associate Analyst (Intern)
  • Manage the recruitment, induction, training, and day-to-day management of the Associate Analyst
  • Act as the primary contact for all interactions with the University of Toronto regarding their Co-op program and Suntory's ongoing participation.
Qualifications
  • University degree with a focus in Business or Finance required
  • Minimum of 2 years of financial analysis or related experience with a particular focus on financial accounting and reporting
  • Holds or is actively working towards a professional accounting designation (CGA, CA, CMA, CPA)
  • May be required to travel within Canada up to 10% of the time
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills - including articulating complex financial analyses and relationships with non-financial colleagues
  • Relationship Management - builds strong relationships based on trust and credibility with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Delivers Results - demonstrates a sense of urgency in driving key projects through to completion to achieve goals and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical ability with a demonstrated attention to detail
  • Management of Change - successfully adapts to changing situations and proactively identifies opportunities to drive sustainable changes in the role and throughout the organization
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with SAP systems
