HEAD OF PLANNING

Contemporary womenswear is seeking an experienced Planner/Merchandising Analyst to join our team and support our Ecom and Wholesale needs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving sales and maximizing profitability by providing data-driven insights and analyses related to inventory planning, seasonal collections, promotions, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Seasonal Collection: (Quarterly)
    • Develop a comprehensive matrix to ensure adequate coverage across categories, SKU count, and price points for each season.
    • Generate reports for the Design team to guarantee Ecommerce requirements are met.
  • Compile bestseller reports for Ecom and WS.
  • Sales by revenue category (full price, off-price, discount).
  • Track sell-through rates.
  • Ensure appropriate planning of styles, categories, and colors to support target objectives.
  • Guarantee a minimum of 80 relevant new arrivals each month, in line with the current season, due to our brand's Buy Now, Wear Now approach.
  • Sales Analysis (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, 6 Months, Yearly):
    • Provide detailed reports on sales performance by account, category, season, and color.
    • Identify top-selling styles and recommend potential reorder opportunities based on current demand.
    • Monitor slow-selling styles and suggest appropriate action plans.
    • Analyze best-selling categories, colors, and fabrics to support merchandising and design decisions.
    • Conduct monthly inventory analysis so the team can formulate a discount/promotion plan.
    • Perform sell-through analysis and propose markdown strategies for slow-selling items.
    • Identify high-inventory items for promotion in e-blasts.
  • Core/Carryover Assessment (Quarterly):
    • Run CORE/CARRYOVER report.
    • Suggest what styles from the most recent delivery sales need to be categorized as CARRYOVER, what needs to stay as CORE, and what needs to be released from CARRYOVER and CORE based on OH and OO.
    • Select supplementary styles from the Core collection for inclusion in pop-up sales.
  • End-of-Season (EOS) Analysis (6 Months):
    • Assist with EOS reports by accounts on best sellers based on Seasonal and Core trend.
    • Identify styles suitable for return-to-vendor (RTV) to optimize inventory cleanup.
  • Year-End (EOY) Analysis:
    • Assist with EOY reports on best sellers by account, based on Seasonal and Core trend.
    • Support the management of RTV styles for inventory clearance.
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Over 10 years of proven experience in Ecommerce and Wholesale merchandising and inventory analysis.
    • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
    • Proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
