Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in business or business-related field. Two (2) years of full-time financial, accounting, banking and/or marketing experience. Highly proficient in word processing, spreadsheet management, electronic messaging and internet applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps, etc.). Bilingual in Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in business or related field. Two (2) years of full-time experience in the private or public assistance environment. Knowledge of LI business climate, Federal business assistance programs and/or New York State business assistance programs. Previously owned a small business. Experience with NYS Small Business Development Centers, Minority Women Owned or Veteran Owned Business Assistance experience.
Brief Description of Duties:
At the Small Business Development Center, the Bilingual Business Advisor provides a comprehensive range of small business-based assistance including one-to-one client counseling in the area of business plan development. The selected candidate will have outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. They will be expected to work successfully both independently and as part of a team. The incumbent will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
