Woodruff Arts Center employees play an integral role in creating and supporting great art and education initiatives at the nation's third largest arts center. Comprised of three Art Partners-Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and High Museum of Art-there's a role for everyone at The Woodruff.Reports to:Vice President & General ManagerFLSA:United States of America (Exempt)Employment Status:Regular/Part timeThe Chorus Administrator (CA) plays a pivotal role within the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus (ASOC), ensuring the smooth operation and effective management of all ASOC-related activities. The CA operates as coordinator, chief communicator, and administrative point person for the chorus, a group comprising approximately 185 volunteer members. This position requires a combination of administrative prowess, musical understanding, and interpersonal skills to coordinate the chorus's participation in performances and rehearsals seamlessly. This role requires a dedicated professional with a passion for choral music and a commitment to excellence in arts administration. Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail are a must.Work Schedule:

• It is expected that the Chorus Administrator will be onsite for every ASOC activity. Rehearsals and performances generally take place during the regular ASO season (June-Sept) but may also include community events or performances outside the regular ASO season and outside the Woodruff Arts Center.
• The Chorus Administrator is responsible for ensuring there is proper and adequate staffing for auditions, currently in May and August of each year.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Chorus Liaison

• Serves as primary liaison and facilitates effective and timely communications between the ASO Director of Choruses, ASO Chorus Council, ASO Chorus members, and ASO leadership and staff as needed.
• Assist in scheduling administrative meetings and pre-rehearsal updates in Rehearsal Hall as needed.
• Provide administrative support as needed.

Chorus Administration Manage all administrative aspects of the chorus, including scheduling rehearsals, performances, and sectionals. Ensure logistical support during rehearsals and performances, such as managing stage setup and seating arrangements. Organize travel arrangements and accommodations for chorus tours and off-site performances. Maintain accurate records of attendance, and work with the ASO Librarians to maintain repertoire and performance history including information on the ASOC website.Chorus Member Support Act as a primary point of contact for chorus members regarding scheduling, music distribution, and other administrative queries. Coordinate communication between chorus members, conductors, and other stakeholders. Coordinate music distribution, score markings, and other logistical aspects of repertoire preparation. Foster a positive and inclusive environment within the chorus, promoting camaraderie and morale.ASOC Auditions Organize and execute ASOC Early Bird (returning members) and New Member auditions by establishing days, times, securing audition space, accompanist, day-of volunteers. Works with ASO Marketing to publicize auditions and ASOC singers to recruit candidates with a goal of reaching previously untapped networks and communities. Collect applications and clearly communicate information to the candidates from start to finish, including post-audition wrap-up and decision notification.Financial Management Assist in budget planning and financial oversight related to chorus activities. Process reimbursements, payments, and other financial transactions as needed.Community Engagement Assist in outreach and engagement efforts to promote the chorus within the community. Coordinate chorus participation in educational programs, workshops, and collaborative performances.The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience.
• Must be highly organized, have strong attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
• Adept at handling multiple projects at once and demonstrated success in organized work, meeting deadlines, and setting priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with concise writing proficiency.
• Proven problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments with an ability to work independently and make critical decisions in emergency situations.
• Effective at maintaining interpersonal relations at all levels of an organization with people of all backgrounds.
• Familiarity with symphonic choral repertoire; candidates who have performed on a high level on in a symphonic choral ensemble preferred.
• An ability to act with discretion and handle sensitive, confidential information is required.
• Physical requirements include walking, standing, and moving for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Must be available by telephone or cell phone on evenings and weekends.
