Softworld, a KELLY® company, is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst for a contract role open with IT Department of a large public school district in Chicago, IL. Sr. Business Analyst - IT Systems Contract Type: W2 with health and 401k benefits Client Industry: Public Sector/Education Duration - till 6/30/2025 with highly possible extension Work Hours: 40 hours/week, 9 am-5 pm, M-F, CST Remote: 100% Start: in 2 weeks Overview: The Sr. Business Analyst will focus on a portfolio of the highest portfolio projects being delivered by ITS that require business analysis support, as measured by the business analysis level of effort estimation tool. Advanced Requirements Management: Elicit, analyze, prioritize, and document complex business requirements and use cases for high impact ITS projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between business units and ITS project teams on a suite of active projects, ensuring all stakeholders have a clear understanding of project requirements, progress, and outcomes. Solution Evaluation and Implementation: Lead the evaluation of new and existing platforms and tools, providing expert recommendations for their implementation within the organization. Business Case Development: Lead the development of comprehensive business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies to support project decisions. Project Oversight: Provide oversight for ensuring business engagement in ongoing project management activities, including acceptance of deliverables by the business, timeline management, risk mitigation, and reporting on project status to senior leadership. Process Documentation: Support high quality project continuity and effectiveness through strong creation and maintenance of documentation, including business case analysis documentation, requirements documentation, process documentation, business rules, and lessons learned. Guide effective testing for higher quality results by ensuring testing plans that are developed by development teams fully cover the agreed upon requirements Generate the following documents as part of their support across many projects: Business Case and Options Analysis Requirements Analysis / Requirements Traceability Matrix Risk Analysis Stakeholder Analysis Data Flow Diagrams Business Process Models SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: 5 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within the public sector or large institutions. 5 years of experience in information technology,preferably within the public sector or large institutions. Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in developing business cases, conducting feasibility studies, and facilitating project documentation. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business terms. Very strong writing abilities. Very strong ability to create presentations with a quality design Expertise in Excel or Google Sheets Expertise in business analysis tools (e.g., process modeling, requirements documentation, project management software). Ability to handle competing priorities and ensure on-time project delivery. Familiarity with IT project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) HIGHLY PREFERRED: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certification.
