General Purpose:Oversees and manages all activities related to production. This includes day-to-day operational commitments covering facilities management, resource planning and production execution.Key Activities include but are not limited to:Process Management
- Mange schedule for maximum production efficiency
- Organize workflow to meet customer specifications, production planning, and business deadlines.
- Communicate problems and obstacles to business and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with maintenance to ensure all equipment is functioning properly
- Establish and apply standard practices and procedures to achieve business unit objectives.
People Management
- Provide leadership to the manufacturing team consisting of 4+ production supervisors with 200 indirect team members that support a multiple shift 24/7 high volume production and printing operation.
- Communication skills to deal with a variety of issues in a unionized (Brantford, ON location only) manufacturing environment.
- Administer Collective Agreement (If appliable) along with company policies/procedures while resolving employee issues including progressive discipline.
- Promote, participate, and maintain safe work practices by evaluating workplace health and safety activity that complies with policies and legislation.
- Collaborate with cross functional business teams (Maintenance, Health and Safety, Quality, Shipping, Purchasing, Human Resources) to ensure business needs are maintained and deviations are analyzed.
- Analyze staffing to determine current and future headcount and training needs to ensure adequate manpower is in place.
- Monitor and implement strategies related to performance to ensure growth and safety of production team.
Continuous Improvement
- Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product or personnel safety or integrity.
- Positively influence adoption and improvement of safe behaviors, operating costs, performance, productions capacity, and quality.
- Mentor manufacturing team towards a positive collaborative and goal driven culture.
- Demonstrate and educate production team on the use of lean tools to enhance production.

- Degree in business, maintenance, engineering, or related discipline

Previous Experience Required
- 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
- 3+ years of people management experience.
