The Facilities Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining our facility's infrastructure to ensure smooth operations and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform preventive maintenance tasks on facility equipment and systems including HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and production machinery.
* Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
* Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations to support uninterrupted production schedules.
* Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory.
* Adhere to health and safety and GMP guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
* Assist in the implementation of facility improvement projects and upgrades.
* Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives where possible.
* Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in HVAC, electrical, or related fields preferred.
* Proven experience as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in a food manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Solid understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
* Ability to read technical manuals and blueprints to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new technologies as needed.
* Ability to operate a computer to support and record documentation in our computer maintenance management system.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
* Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
* Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.
* Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
