Salary: $55.00 HourlyLocation : South Charleston and/or Montgomery as needed, WVJob Type: Part-Time FacultyJob Number: 349Division: Academic AffairsOpening Date: 10/14/2024Description BridgeValley Community & Technical College is seeking an experienced insurance professional and content expert to build curriculum for a suite of courses serving the educational needs of the local insurance industry. This position is housed in the division of General Education & Professional Programs and reports to the division dean. The content package will include: insurance pre sales licensure, soft-skills, and continuing education opportunities for insurance sales professionals.This position is contingent on attainment of grant funding. Compensation for this role is $55 per hour working 20 hours per week for approximately 14 weeks. Examples of Duties
- Form and meet with an insurance advisory committee for input on the project
- Work with BridgeValley's Learning Resource Center to digitize all content into the learning management platform
- Build curriculum for all three content package items, including but not limited to:
- Setting the framework for teaching, learning, and assessment of both learning outcomes and objectives
- Assessments (exams, active learning activities, assignments etc.) tied to learning outcomes and objectives
- Course outlines
- Course syllabi
Assist in course approvals through appropriate governing bodies and amendments based on feedback from those bodiesOther duties as assigned Qualifications
- Substantial experience in the insurance industry applicable to the position; 5 years of experience, preferred
