JOB TITLE: Student Affairs ReceptionistDEPARTMENT: Student AffairsREPORTS TO: Associate Director of Student Affairs SCHEDULE: Full Time. Exempt. Monday-Friday; 9 am - 5 pm Fully Onsite position SALARY:$44,500 per yearPOSITION OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Student Affairs, the Student Affairs Receptionist is the first point of contact for multiple offices and phone lines. Provide general information to students, staff and visitors. Responsible for general office upkeep and supply inventory. Manage staff calendars and space reservations. Provide support to office initiatives, including Orientation and Student Affairs programming.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greet and assist all visitors of the 340 Office Suite, including Student Affairs (Residence Life, Student Engagement and Leadership, Student Health & Counseling Services, Disability Resources) Title IX Coordinator, SVA Global and International Student Office.
  • Provide general information to staff, students and their families.
  • Oversee and train student staff during office hours.
  • Answer multiple phone lines and retrieve voicemail messages.
  • Oversee correspondence through the Student Affairs email account.
  • Coordinate housing tours and manage tour intake data.
  • Provide front-line support for Residence Life inquiries received via phone and in person.
  • Manage Concourse space reservations and provide support to reservations.
  • Assist with event chaperoning and staffing as needed, including some night and weekend commitments. (Open House, Accepted Students Day, VASA events, Orientation)
  • Assist with Orientation planning and event execution, including Orientation Blog.
  • Provide administrative support to the Associate Director of Student Affairs and other staff members as needed.
  • Participate in online support initiatives, such as the SVA Concourse in GatherTown
  • Perform general administrative duties such as emailing, photocopying and filing.
  • Maintain a professional appearance of the office and waiting area.
  • Maintain office supply inventory.
  • Sort and distribute payroll and mail.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple inquiries at the same time.
  • Ability to manage phone and in-person inquiries in a professional, patient and friendly manner.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, including with professional and student staff.
  • Proficiency with Mac/PC computers, Microsoft Office, Google Drive and database systems.
  • Preferred proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and some tech support experience.
  • Interest in the field of higher education and student services.
