There has never been a better time to join EQ.Role SummaryThe Incoming Mail Associate is responsible for sorting all incoming mail-typically via hand-and ensures that it is delivered to the correct employees in a timely fashion according to AST's set procedure.Core Duties/ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Keep record of all mail received using the computer system in a particular order to be able to identify date of receipt, where and whom it was sent to for easy identification.Sort packages and group them into different categories for easy dispatch and safe handling during delivery to prevent damage of sensitive packages if they were mixed up with non-sensitive onesCollect mail and packages from internal stakeholders, verifying that each has a correct delivery addressWork with courier services and postal offices to get best rates for mail delivery and stay updated on quality-of-service deliveryGather inventory items and evaluate seasonal inventory counts, recording inventory items and materialsFill relevant details in distribution and shipping forms, providing accurate information to ensure that mail is delivered to the right locations and peopleMaintain supplies, including shipping and mailing envelopes, boxes, markers, forms, stickers, and tape to ensure adequate stock levelsAnswer inquiries from employees about posting rates and duration and inform them about special posting packages and promotionsMaintain a neat and orderly workspace and ensure that the mailroom is properly organizedWeigh employee items to be mailed to get the right weights and assign the proper amount of postage to themTrain mailroom clerks that are new to the organization, sharing best practices and organizational mailing proceduresSkills, Capabilities and AttributesThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills, and behaviors:High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience6 months to 1 year of previous mailroom/production experience preferred.Willingness and availability to work additional hours if assigned.Self-motivated, able to work well independently as well as communicate and work effectively with others.Competency in performing multiple functional tasks.Highly organized and detail-orientedMust be able to perform physical work in an office setting, which includes mobility, bending, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) during the course of the workday.Compensation$18.00 per hourEqual Opportunity StatementWe are an equal opportunity employer and make employment decisions without regard to race, creed, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), parental status, marital status, national origin, age, disability, family medical history or genetic information, political affiliation, military service, status with regard to public assistance, or any other characteristic protected under federal, state, or applicable local law.
