R&D Assembly Technician II

The R&D Assembly Technician II plays a key role in product development for medical devices within the Development department, contributing to the teams goal of delivering high-quality products on time to meet customer needs. In this position, you will collaborate closely with project engineers to build pilot production quantities of new products by following written and demonstrated procedures. You will also conduct testing of products and components, using a wide range of techniques, tools, instructions, and equipment to achieve precise results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all applicable SOPs as outlined in the Training Matrix.
  • Assemble small parts according to both verbal and written instructions.
  • Work independently, completing assignments accurately and on time.
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with company policies.
  • Follow safety protocols at all times.
  • Operate various equipment such as adhesive dispensers, vertical shrinkers, braiders, tipping machines, drilling, punching, and measuring devices for catheter and part assembly.
  • Keep detailed records of materials used, procedures followed, and inspection criteria on supplied forms (e.g., LHR).
  • Report necessary repairs or equipment upgrades.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Track materials, tools, and procedures throughout the manufacturing process and ensure incoming materials meet purchase order specifications.
  • Assist the project engineer by providing feedback on procedural modifications and suggesting improvements for product or sub-assembly manufacturing.
  • Perform testing on devices or components as per written protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

Education:

  • Associate degree or higher in a related science field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (medical device experience preferred).
