Position Overview

Responsible for leading a team that provides agency services for a portfolio of Project Finance transactions. These services include acting as the Administrative Agent, Intercreditor Agent, Collateral Agent, and Depositary Bank. Key responsibilities involve maintaining high standards of customer service, conducting employee reviews, recruiting staff, assigning team members to specific deals, establishing best practices, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, responding to internal reporting requests, and collaborating with other internal departments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate lender actions in accordance with the financing agreements for amendments, waivers, consents, as well as handling distressed transactions (restructurings or workouts).
  • Deliver timely and efficient service to customers and lenders.
  • Review conditions precedent for drawdowns and repayments on deals within the portfolio.
  • Distribute necessary information and reports related to agent transactions to all participants.
  • Maintain communication with sponsors, borrowers, participants, lawyers, consultants, and other relevant parties.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with other agency banks and borrowers.
  • Ensure the team provides excellent customer service to sponsors, borrowers, lenders, and internal departments.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews, provide feedback, guide and train staff for growth.
  • Manage recruitment efforts, including obtaining approvals for positions, interviewing candidates, and collaborating with HR throughout the hiring process.
  • Allocate agency roles across the team for optimal coverage.
  • Develop and implement best practices for executing agency roles and related tasks.
  • Review and provide feedback on draft loan documentation from an agency perspective before deal closings.
  • Ensure the team maintains secure and accurate operations, with all work completed in a timely manner.
  • Complete internal reporting requirements in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate loan administration with the back-office team.
  • Provide support to the Project Finance Origination Team as needed.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain agency files, legal documents, and other critical information.
  • Collect Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence and manage customer onboarding processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments on administrative matters.
  • Perform additional work-related duties as required.

Other Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support junior staff, helping them transition to independent work.
  • Assist management with ad-hoc requests and projects.
  • Attend domestic and international bank meetings as required.
  • Work overtime or on weekends when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration required; advanced degrees such as an MBA, MS, or LLM are preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Agency Services or Portfolio Management, particularly in support of Project Finance transactions.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret loan documentation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with PC applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

Compensation

The expected base salary for this role ranges from $190,000 to $250,000. Salary offers will be determined based on various factors, including relevant skills, experience, education, and any applicable certifications or licenses. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary, a generous benefits package is offered, and successful candidates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
