Job Title: Truck Driver, Medium Location: Pax River, MD
Job Description: We are looking for a skilled Truck Driver to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently to various destinations. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating medium-sized trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, and ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:
+ Drives a straight truck, 1 1/2 to 4 tons inclusive, usually 6 wheels to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale, and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers' houses or places of business.
+ Safely operate medium-sized trucks to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
+ Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
+ Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
+ Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring proper distribution and securing of items.
+ Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines and optimize efficiency.
+ Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and address any issues or concerns.
+ Maintain accurate records of mileage, hours of service, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
+ Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
+ Perform routine maintenance tasks on vehicles, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and performing minor repairs as needed.
+ Represent Black Bear Technology Solutions in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Qualifications:
+ Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
+ Proven experience as a truck driver, with a focus on medium-sized vehicles preferred.
+ Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
+ Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
+ Physical stamina and strength to load and unload cargo and perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks.
+ Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
