** JOB DESCRIPTION**

Bookkeeping Assistant – Accounts Payable (Temporary)

The Bookkeeping Assistant provides financial, administrative, and clerical support to Towner Management's Finance and Accounting Department. Primary duties include reviewing and verifying invoices, interacting with vendors and controlling expenses. The Bookkeeping Assistant also provides support for the day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.

In addition to general accounts payable bookkeeping duties, the Bookkeeping Assistant will have the opportunity to provide support for and learn other aspects of the property management business.

Duties:

  • Assembly, review, and verification of invoices and payment requests
  • Flag and clarify any questionable invoice terms or pricing issues
  • Sort, code and match invoices
  • Prepare invoices up for payment
  • Enter and upload invoices into the AP system
  • Research and resolve any invoice discrepancies or other issues
  • Vendor correspondence and query response
  • Month end closing assistance
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
Education and Experience
  • Knowledge of accounts payable
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software such as QuickBooks, FreshBooks, or Sage
  • Proficiency in data entry and management
  • 1 to 3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, though a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is a plus
