About the Job

Overview

DY Consultants is looking for a Senior Aviation Consultant to join our team in support of our rapidly growing client base. As a senior aviation consultant, you will be involved in a wide variety of interesting airport projects, establishing and maintaining client relations, participating with upper management in the decision-making process, as well as managing, mentoring, and supervising support staff.

Key Responsibilities include providing senior level support on the following:

  • Master Plans and Airport Layout Plans
  • Alternatives Development for Facility Improvements (Airside, Landside, Terminal)
  • Airspace Obstruction Analysis
  • Apron and Gate Design
  • Operational Efficiency Studies and Delay Reduction Initiatives
  • Forecasts of Aviation Demand
  • Planning for Emerging Technologies in Aviation including Advanced Air Mobility (eVTOLs, UAS, etc.)
  • Environmental Planning and Sustainability
  • Noise and Land-Use Studies
  • Data Mining and Analytics
  • Research and Development Studies
  • Airspace, Airfield, and/or Terminal Simulation and Modeling
  • Economic Impact Studies
  • Potential to Serve as an Extension of Staff at Client Sites
  • Coordinate with Staff and Clients to ensure Project Success

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation/airport planning, urban planning, civil enginee0-ring, or related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of aviation planning experience
  • Experience on both large air carrier and small general aviation airports
  • A strong understanding of Federal Aviation Administration regulations
  • Familiarity with state and federal grant application process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, government officials, private interests and the general public
  • Highly motivated with the desire to learn and lead a group of professionals
  • Good managerial and organization skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in aviation, airport planning, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field
  • Experience with software related to airport planning such as AutoCAD and AviPLAN
  • Familiarity with Aviation Modeling Software such as TAAM, AirTop, SIMMOD or CAST
  • Familiarity with coding languages such as Python and dashboard tools like Tableau
  • Understanding of ICAO aerodrome/airport standards and recommended practices
  • Familiarity with ACRP reports and IATA ADRM.
