Our success will be built on amazing colleagues, working together.Job OverviewThe Associate, Vendor Direct Operations reports to the Merchant Operations department at Macy's, which supports Buyers & Planners and various cross-functional partners, including Digital, Store Operations, Marketing, Shortage Control, Accounts Payable, Private Label brands, leased businesses, distribution warehouses, and vendors.This Associate understands the end-to-end merchant process and tools, focusing on effective collaboration, support, and execution. They build strong relationships with business partners to identify challenges and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency in the digital platform and vendor direct program.The Associate is known for fostering trust within their team and the merchant community. They are recognized as a collaborative, results-driven change agent who leads through influence and challenges outdated practices. The ideal candidate excels in building, training, and supporting merchants through new procedures and is skilled at identifying and retiring legacy processes that no longer align with company strategy. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.What You Will Do
  • Leverage comprehensive knowledge of digital and vendor-direct merchandising processes and systems, along with insights from merchant and vendor inquiries, to improve processes and educate on best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the merchant community and other cross-functional partners within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the offshore team to ensure effective absorption of new functions and achievement of KPIs.
  • Use expertise in merchant reporting and retail math to identify and present new business opportunities.
  • Lead the development of ad-hoc reports, forms, training materials, and guides.
  • Manage and support essential operational processes to drive business success.
  • Assist with key company initiatives as required.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Skills You Will NeedCollaboration and Teamwork: Proven track record of effective collaboration with offshore teams and various departments.Analytical Skills: Expertise in merchant reporting and retail math to identify and present business opportunities.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and concisely.Leadership and Facilitation: Strong leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to influence and guide others.Process Improvement: Ability to identify challenges, recommend process improvements, and retire outdated practices.Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; above-average mathematical abilities.Creative and Strategic Thinking: Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically to address business needs.Training and Support Skills: Experience in developing training materials and supporting merchants through new procedures.Who You Are
