Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: PCU Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x12-Hour Night (18:30 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute care experience License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH required; PALS preferred Must-Have: Epic charting experience; Telemetry required; Vents and Conscious Sedation preferred Job Description: - Must be willing to float within service lines and to affiliate hospitals as needed.- Night shift role caring for a diverse patient age group, including infants to geriatrics.- Work on a 22-bed universal unit, caring for patients whose needs may change from ICU to Med/Surg while remaining in the same room.- Staffing ratios: 1:5 for Med/Surg patients, 1:4 for progressive patients, and 1:2 for ICU patients.- Patient diagnoses include cardiac, orthopedics, respiratory diseases, general surgery, hospice, neurology, ENT, urology, and diabetes.- Participate in inpatient dialysis sessions for chronic patients.- Provide care in a unit with Primary Stroke Certification, experienced in TPA/TNK administration.- Use of Pyxis for medication management and Epic system for charting.- Telehealth services utilized for various specialty services.- Must complete a basic Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam; two attempts allowed.- Wear navy scrubs.- Must meet COVID-19 and Flu vaccine requirements; medical or religious exemptions are acceptable.- Orientation includes four non-billable hours on the first day.- Weekend rotation required; every other weekend but may require two weekends in a row based on the unit's needs.Note: Travel pairs are accepted; if related, they must be submitted to different units within the same facility.
