Overview:
Responsible for cashier/hosting duties applicable to the food outlet. Serves guests by collecting payments, making change, and issuing receipts. Cleans equipment and stations as necessary and applicable.
Responsibilities:Delivers exceptional guest service (i.e., prompt, friendly, professional, and responsive), using proper greeting and departure phrases and service standards established by F&B management. Greets and escorts guests to tables and coordinates seating assignments in accordance with established procedures, as applicable. Communicates with servers and restaurant management to provide appropriate levels of service to top-tiered Club Chumash players (e.g., Black and Platinum). Manages dining reservations and wait lists; utilizes Open Table, if applicable. Provides servers name to guests at applicable outlets. Keeps the hosting and cashiering areas of the restaurant clean and organized; cleans promotional displays, menus, counters, etc. Receives cash from Cage/Vault, verifies amount and places into till. Makes change and issues receipts to guests. Receives cash, credit cards, or comps from guests for goods or services and records amounts received. Recalculates or calculates bill and itemizes list and ticket showing amount due using point of sale system. Records amount received and prepares reports of transaction. Fulfills end of shift cashier closing duties, such as closing side work, cash bank settlements to Cage/Vault, point-of-sale system card re-sets, and organizing receipts, comps, or other necessary payment verifications for Revenue Audit collection. Assists all food service outlets with cashiering as needed. Provides information on resort amenities, events, promotions, etc. in order to increase levels of guest service. Wipes tables, changes ashtrays, disposes of trash, and cleans necessary equipment as necessary and applicable. Maintains inventory and submits requisitions as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED Certificate. One year of experience in a cash-handling position. Knowledge of proper cash handling procedures. Ability to operate a cash register/point of sale system. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic English reading and writing skills; proficient English conversation skills. Must be able to read labels, ingredients, and instructions, and write basic lists, notes and directions; able to converse effectively with co-workers and guests. Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact. Exceptional detail and follow-up skills. Must be able to work effectively within a team. Willingness to work flexible schedule and hours, including evenings, weekends, special events, and holidays. Must follow safety guidelines and grooming standards. Must maintain uniforms, using proper washing and ironing techniques, if applicable. Must obtain food handler card within 30 days of employment, if stationed at applicable outlet (e.g., Food Court). Must be certified or be able to obtain certification in an approved alcoholic awareness program within 90 days of employment. Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency. Native American hiring preference applies.
