THE WORK Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Uniondale, New York. In this role you will have the responsibility of conducting systems engineering functions for the Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. The ideal candidate will coordinate with engineering staff, fleet support engineering project managers, fleet support program management, and forward site field engineers on next generation subsystem installation, daily maintenance schedule reporting, submarine refit tasks, advanced support of inboard and outboard maintenance, problem investigation and troubleshooting tasks to support the fleet SSBN Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) Trident Navigation subsystem operational life-cycle maintenance. This position will require travel and temporary duty assignment (TDY) (may include: Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, FL., Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, GA., Naval Submarine Base Bangor, WA, as well as infrequent travel to the United Kingdom). You will join a team committed to engineering excellence #OneLMHotJobs Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related subject area from an accredited college or university is required Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance Project management skills to support status reporting and customer meetings, and ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope Experience preparing charts and giving presentations outlining technical issues, solutions Experience with navigation principles and applications Desired Skills: Prior Trident experience is desired, Trident Navigation is a plus Experience in analyzing and resolving problems Strong Microsoft Office product knowledge Excellent verbal and written communication skills Clear and concise communication style, ability to communicate with all levels of leadership, peers and customers Experience in effectively working in teams Ability to coordinate with industry partners to deploy upgrades throughout the fleet Technical experience and knowledge of FBM Missile Program Experience with OHIO/Vanguard Class SSBNs and sustainment lifecycle to coordinate Extended Refit Period (ERPs) and Shipyard Installation Test Program (SITP) Experience with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) computers systems (SWSNET) such Advanced Coordination Environment (ACE), Test Program Information Exchange System (TIES), Maintenance Applications, Strategic Systems Programs Alteration (SPALT) Data System (SDS) Familiarity with SWS maintenance Familiarity with inertial navigators Familiarity with failure and material review boards, deficiency reporting Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000.
