  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 1 year machine shop experience
  • Use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department.
  • Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations involving decimals, ratios, etc.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Operate any type and size of single spindle, multiple spindles on a variety of operations such as drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, countersinking, etc.
  • Work with close tolerances and fine finishes.
  • Perform tool offset and load parts.
  • Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
  • Use all tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages necessary to perform operations.
  • Perform duties on proto-type or first-time builds.
  • Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
  • Participate in team initiatives.
  • Cross-train as needed within the department.
  • Reports problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
  • Participates in and support team initiatives.
  • Understands and abides by the GE Leadership behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years machine shop experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Education and/or training in machine shop operations
  • Experience in a self-directed team environment
  • Experience working with manual and CNC equipment including but not limited to lathes, mills, etc.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing knowledge.
Physical demands:
  • Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.
  • Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 20 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.

This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
