TrainerClassificationExempt Reports toRegional PresidentJOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/ObjectiveDesign and conduct training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. May also analyze training needs.Essential FunctionsMonitor, evaluate, or record training activities orprogram effectiveness.Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills.Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.Design, develop, and administer tests/quizzes to trainees to gage understanding.Plan, organize and ensure all new employees go to new hire orientation training.Must remain current with the training initiatives of Verizon Wireless, Cellular Sales and strategic partners (Directv, TechProtect, Phobio, etc.)Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Competencies Initiative: Spotting opportunities within a circle of influence; anticipating threats and acting on them; self-starting rather than waiting passively until the situation demands action.Leadership: Achieving results through people by successful objective setting, performance review, motivation, delegation, teambuilding, commitment gains, and empowerment.Oral Communication: Shaping and expressing ideas and information in an effective manner.Planning and Organizing: Setting priorities and defining actions, time, and resources needed to achieve predefined goals.Results Orientation: Being persistent and showing perseverance on achieving concrete and tangible results out of personal responsibility; getting optimum results from situations and being ready to take action and show tenacity in case of obstacles or resistance.Teamwork: Working as a productive member of a cohesive group toward a common goal, and contributing to team development and effective team dynamics.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position may have supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.Travel1-10%Must have reliable transportation.Required Education and ExperienceAS degree in Business or Education and a minimum of two years of training experience are required.
