Job Description :

Summary of the Position:

Under supervision of the Chief Architect, the Project Manager is responsible for assisting in the development, management and execution of architectural projects from conception through completion. Additionally, the Project Manager shall serve as support for tasks, duties and responsibilities required for the satisfactory fulfillment of the position, in accordance with departmental and management needs.

General Responsibilities:

Producing schematic design drawings, design development drawings, construction documents, Building Department permit drawings & specifications under the supervision of the Chief Architect.

Researching and implementing the use of appliances, fixtures, hardware and finishes.

Coordinating with various product/material vendor representatives on various projects.

Coordinating with professional consultants (engineers, expeditors, contractors) on various projects.

Surveying & documenting existing properties.

Managing projects, negotiating bids with contractors and visiting job sites to oversee construction progress to its conclusion.

III. Measures of Accountability:

In accordance with the guidelines described above the Project Manager will be held accountable for the following expectations:

Meeting project budgets and schedules.

Overseeing the construction process to its conclusion in a timely and professional manner.

Accurate production of drawings and specifications as required for each project.

Ability to organize & prioritize tasks as well as handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to think creatively to solve various problems that may arise.

Knowledge and experience in interior design is ideal

Hiring Specifications:

Minimum 5 years of related work experience in an architectural, interior design, or property management firm.

Strong graphic computer skills (AutoCad, , MS Word/Excel; etc.)

BA or BS degree preferred in Architecture or a related field, such as interior design.

Strong communications skills (verbal & written)

Highly developed organizational and prioritization skills

Ability to function effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented work environment.

Strong knowledge of construction means and methods for commercial and multi-family residential construction, including knowledge of exterior masonry faade construction.

Strong knowledge of NYC building codes & accessibility code.

Familiarity with LL11/ FISP preferred but will train.

Ability to coordinate MEP & structural engineering drawings with Architectural trades & review shop drawings.
