Role OverviewUnder the guidance of the Associate Director, Planned Gift Administration, the Associate will support the planned giving program with a focus on bequest administration, related paperwork and data reporting needs, and managing the existing cultivation and stewardship communications strategy with executors, trustees, and descendant family and friends to report on the impact of the decedent's gift and potentially cultivate those relationships into becoming donors themselves. Department Accountabilities ProspectingPursue strategic opportunities in coherence with MSF USA's strategy, that create long-term value for the movement by identifying and developing new audience segments or donors for its mission.Donor Cultivation, Engagement and ManagementBuild trust and loyalty with potential and existing donors. At the simplest level, update donors on activities. At a more complex level, build long-term relationships with key donors and key donor segments. Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the donor engagement strategy. May be through channels or through personal relationships.FundraisingSecure reliable, sustainable and efficient resources in alignment with MSF USA commitments.Brand PositioningDrive awareness and consideration through brand positioning based on the brand strategy and implement brand plans.Best-in-Class Fundraising Systems and CapabilitiesDeploy and champion the latest technological systems and capabilities that push the boundaries of what Development can produce for its donors.Roles Specific OutcomesAdministrationProduce, update and provide best practice support on a wide range of MS documents, databases, and other departmental systems to support the work of more senior colleagues.Bequest Administration Provides support to senior colleagues with basic document handling, estate inquiries, and generating standard reports related to bequest administrationData Management Use data management systems to access specific information as and when required.Donor Relationship DevelopmentCommunicate programmatic initiatives and engage potential donors in relevant campaigns to build new relationships. Act as first point of contact for donor queries and complaints and resolve these, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the donor receives an appropriate responseProject Management Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.These core accountabilities should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by an incumbent in this job. No full-time staff supervisory responsibilities.Desired Qualifications & ExperienceAt a minimum the Job Holder should possess: Bachelor's degree required and at least two years' experience in non-profit fundraising with some knowledge of planned giving. At least two years' experience working with donor databases.
