Location Newtown Athletic Club Description The Newtown Athletic Club is a premier fitness and wellness destination committed to providing exceptional service and an outstanding experience for our members. We are looking for a dedicated HR and Payroll Manager to join our team and help us foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring efficient payroll processing. We are seeking an experienced HR and Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll processing and human resources management. This role will play a critical part in maintaining our company's compliance with employment laws while ensuring employee satisfaction, training, and engagement.Payroll Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll for multiple entities, including salary, hourly, commission, and tips.
  • Assist with audits and perform quarter and year-end reconciliations.
  • Research and prepare special reports for management as needed.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in all payroll-related matters.
HR Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Address employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, directing complex or sensitive issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, resolving issues in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, while recommending best practices.
  • Regularly review and update HR policies and practices to maintain compliance and improve the employee experience.
Position Requirements Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with a strong emphasis on payroll processing.
  • Multi-entity payroll experience is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in payroll software (Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite and Google.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
