Safety ManagerRequired Skills
- 7+ years of safety experience including 3+ years of direct supervisory experience.
- A bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Broad and detailed regulatory, training, inspection, and auditing knowledge.
- Construction or manufacturing industry experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of compliance relating to DOT, MSHA, and other federal regulations is preferred.
- Ability to manage priorities, and strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to professionally manage a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism and conduct that sets an example of the core values of the organization.
- Ability to communicate with and present information to senior leaders and customers.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed during periods of shutdown or peak activity.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture through behaviors and actions.
- Review and update written programs, audits, and accident investigations.
- Track incident metrics and trends and apply findings.
- Manage worker's compensation incidents in a confidential manner that meets the needs of the employee and the company.
- Communicate and collaborate with business partners, regulatory agencies, and employees regarding safety requirements and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards.
- Communicate issues, trends, regulatory updates, and training materials to employees, leadership, and direct reports.
- Responsible for the development and performance management of direct reports.
