Equipment and Building Maintenance: Assume Primary Responsibility for coordinating and performing routine maintenance and repairs on all plant infrastructure equipment, buildings and grounds. Responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance on all chiller, cooling tower, air compressor, material systems, and building equipment according to maintenance plans. Coordinate and Perform emergency repairs to infrastructure systems. Daily report to the Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering Manager about all Infrastructure systems conditions and performance. Responsible for ensuring all Mechanical rooms, Rest rooms, and Break Rooms are orderly and clean. Includes coordinating Janitorial tasks. Provide information to the Maintenance Supervisor to help identify and develop equipment improvements. Effectively communicate will all shift and plant personnel. Be familiar with and follow all ISO and SQF Procedures/Instructions related to your work. Responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks in compliance with all ISO and SQF Quality System requirements. Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor to promote overall plant effectiveness. 2. Safety and Housekeeping: Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic work environment. Be familiar with and follow the Safety and Drug Policies of Berry Plastics Corp. Follow the lock-out procedure when working on equipment. Be familiar with and follow the Environmental Policies of Berry Plastics Corp. Report any unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor and ensure that the equipment is not used until repaired or alleviated. 3. Training: Assist in the training of new employees assigned to your area of responsibility. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in informing outside contractors when performing work for Berry Plastics Corp. Update and maintain personal knowledge related to your daily responsibilities through technical literature, magazines, courses, seminars, etc. 4. Other: Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Be familiar with and follow all food-safety Procedures/Instructions related to your work. Qualifications 1. The physical activity of this position Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion. Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. 2. The physical requirements of this position Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 3. The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field of vision The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. 4. The condition the worker will be subject to in this position The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
