Job Overview: Search Solution Group is looking for a dynamic and results-driven VP, Controller for our client, a leading provider of equipment and branding solutions for retail environments, laboratories, and exterior signage. The VP, Controller plays a pivotal role in leading the financial operations of the business unit, ensuring accurate reporting, effective financial analysis, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on executive with a deep understanding of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment and a proven ability to drive profitability and financial performance. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the accounting and financial function of the business unit, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and maintaining internal controls.
  • Manage financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting, with detailed reporting by customer and product line.
  • Develop and enhance internal processes related to costing and financial reporting for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Present financial results to the division's operational team in a clear and audience-appropriate manner.
  • Oversee the budget and forecast process for the business unit, including detailed variance analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and sales team to drive profitability and business growth.
  • Prepare and manage a weekly 13-week cash flow forecast, including cash management, collections, and disbursements.
  • Evaluate and approve capital expenditures and lease requests, providing justifications and successfully selling the ideas to stakeholders.
Requirements Include: Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred.
  • CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
Experience:
  • Significant experience in cost accounting within a discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading financial operations at a senior management level, with a track record of driving profitability.
Skills:
  • Strong ERP and accounting information systems background.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and formal presentations.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management and provide clear financial guidance.
Certifications:
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
