We are offering a unique opportunity for a Senior Risk Manager to join our dynamic, open minded and global Property & Casualty Reinsurance Risk Management team!
About the RoleYou will gain an excellent overview of and frequent exposure to Swiss Re's global Property & Casualty (P&C) Re risk-taking activities, with a strong focus on our Casualty business, but also supporting decision making on large and complex transactions. You will engage with senior business and management stakeholders. Key responsibilities to actively drive and/or contribute to the execution of our mandate:
- Assess risk-taking / underwriting activities within P&C Re, from individual large deals up to entire portfolios, from a qualitative and a quantitative perspective.
- Provide P&C Re's and Group's EC and BoD with an independent view of relevant risk implications arising out of strategic and financial plans of specific Casualty portfolios.
- Contribute to and lead insurance risk reviews for specific markets, underwriting teams or P&C relevant global topics.
- Support the Casualty CUO teams in further developing their operational rigor as an embedded operational risk manager.
- Identify new risks and accumulations based on your background and the insights you gain through your day-to-day interactions.
- Support, as needed, the review of large and complex P&C Re transactions, engaging closely with key stakeholders to enable well-informed referral decisions.
- Contribute to internal and external risk communications as well as drive risk management activities, strategic initiatives and projects globally.
Collaboration is key to our success! This role requires close co-operation with colleagues across Risk Management, Underwriting and other functions to ensure consistency and efficiency, and to leverage the full available expertise. You must also be able to develop and maintain trusted relationships with Key Risk Takers mostly in the P&C Re CUO area.

- Analytical, able to break down complexity in a clear, simple and logical way.

real impact on Swiss Re. For Armonk, NY the estimated base salary range for this position is $113,000 to $200,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
