Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and premiums.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management on financial performance.
  • Assist in annual audit preparations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Adhere to internal controls and company policies to safeguard company assets.

Qualifications of the Staff Accountant:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
