Job Description :
As a Dining Services Team Member, you will help ensure an excellent dining experience for our residents by preparing meals according to tray tickets, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and working collaboratively with dining and skilled nursing staff. You'll support resident well-being by following proper dietary guidelines, including portion control and managing food allergies. You will also ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and resident care protocols, as well as Kendal's Code of Conduct, including HIPAA rules.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare meals with attention to detail, portion sizes, and specific dietary needs or restrictions.
  • Serve residents and guests efficiently in our dining areas, ensuring a positive and comfortable dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and food service areas, adhering to infection control guidelines.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Ensure all food service equipment is properly used, maintained, and sanitized.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to HIPAA regulations, ensuring resident confidentiality.
  • Protect the rights and well-being of residents, identifying and reporting any signs of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Participate in annual training, including dementia management, infection control, and emergency preparedness.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a passion for providing excellent service and a resident-first mindset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding portion sizes and meal preparation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to compliance policies.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, including food trays, trash, and other equipment.
  • Stand or walk for the majority of your shift.
  • Tolerate sudden variations in kitchen temperatures.
  • Push food carts weighing up to 100 pounds and assist residents with their chairs.
  • Perform physical tasks like sweeping, mopping, moving tables, and vacuuming large areas.
