Performs troubleshooting sequences to identify non conformance and communicates repairs required. Writes reports as required. May be required to work on multiple assignments at the same time.ResponsibilitiesTesting - 70 - 80%* Safely performs functional testing of all NORDCO track maintenance of way equipment using approved test procedures.* Audits assembly to design for internal and external specifications.* Performs troubleshooting on issues found during the testing process.* Communicates completion of final testing of production and prototype machines.* Works with engineering, production, and / or R&D on problems with the machine build process or machine testing prior to shipment.* Assist with creation and maintenance of test procedures.Reports - 10 - 20%* Completes reports on machine testing and defects and provides feedback to Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesEducation* Requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Training on heavy equipment and measurement tools, including flow meters, pressure gauges and voltage meters.Experience* Minimum of 5 years of troubleshooting or related experience with heavy equipment.Technical Skills* General mechanical skills. Must be proficient working with hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic controlled circuits including PLC and CAN-bus systems.* Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical schematics and drawings.* Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.* Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting purposes.Behavioral Attributes* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, suppliers and other NORDCO employees.* Supports Nordco's continuous improvement effortsOther Requirements* Ability to read and interpret business documents, technical procedures, governmental regulations and professional journals.* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.Travel* Minimal travel requirementsWorking ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to dust, oil, grease, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times and may require the use of hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to handle or lift objects up to 50 pounds, use tools or controls and communicate with other employees.
