Description Salary: $22.00 - $28.00 per hourBenefits: All eligible full time employees will receive Paid Annual Leave (PAL) starting at 23 days per year and raising by one day per year following one full calendar year of employment (January through December). They will also be offered health benefits and will be automatically enrolled in employer paid short and long term disability and life insurance.All full time and part time employees have access to participate in the Delphinus Engineering 401(k) which includes company match of 25% up to 10% deferred.Summary:Performs routine mechanical work on U.S. Navy shore facilities, waterborne vessels, surface ships and/or submarines. Tasks will be related to inspections, repairs, modernization and/or alterations.Location: Bremerton, WA.Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement equipment including scales, vernier calipers if supporting repairs on pumps, valves and moters
  • Performs disconnects and connections of mechanical joints.
  • Removes and installs various equipment using sound engineering practices.
  • Performs duties as Firewatch
  • Assists with cleaning up work area.
  • Employee may be required to travel for work to other locations

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills: Not RequiredEducation/Experience:Must have completed a formal related course of study in trade through either a community college, technical or trade school, military training, formal company training program or an apprentice program and must have 1-3 years of verifiable experience as a mechanic in an industrial environment i.e., shipbuilding, ship repair or nuclear power plants.Certificates and Licenses:Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and obtain and maintain a security badge for all military installations and civilian shipyards..Equipment:

  • Torque Wrenches
  • Precision Measuring Instruments as required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written technical instructions and manuals.
  • Must possess working knowledge of shipboard systems operating requirements.
  • Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets (MDS).
  • Able to follow safety procedures.
