About the Role:

AmeriFab, Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreman with a strong background in welding and heavy manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in heavy fabrication, welding processes, and overseeing production teams in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising day-to-day fabrication activities, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in all processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and supervise fabrication operations, including welding, assembly and production activities.

- Lead and supervise a team of welders, fabricators, and production staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

- Implement and meet production schedule at the direction of Production Manager

- Monitor production quality to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, codes and standards.

- Troubleshoot production issues, providing technical guidance to resolve challenges and improve processes.

- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices in all fabrication and welding activities.

- Train and mentor team members, fostering skill development and knowledge growth.

- Coordinate with engineering, quality control and other departments to align production activities with project goals and customer needs.

- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, ensuring proper maintenance to minimize any downtime.

- Maintain accurate records of production, inventory and personnel performance.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions and increased efficiency in fabrication.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy fabrication, welding, and manufacturing.

- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

- Strong leadership experience in a fabrication or manufacturing setting, preferably as a Foreman, Supervisor, or Manager.

- Comprehensive knowledge of welding techniques, layout, fit up & other fabrication processes, and relevant industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.

- Excellent understanding of heavy fabrication equipment, including welding machines, CNC cutting machines, cranes, and related tools.

- Proven track record of managing teams in a custom manufacturing environment.

- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and implement effective solutions.

- Strong commitment to safety and experience in enforcing workplace safety protocols.

- Effective communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience implementing process improvements.

- Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning software.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment, which may include standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, and exposure to welding fumes and high temperatures.

- Comfortable with using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required.
