We are looking to hire a Plant / Process Operator to work with a major Oil and Gas company in Tioga, ND on a long term contract.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Contractor personnel to maintain a safe work environment.
- Participate in Operations Emergency Response activities for the area.
- Support and coordinate with the Systems Completion team during start-up and commissioning of facilities.
- Review work packages for planned maintenance activities, confirm isolation requirements, and ensure safe preparation of equipment.
- Endorse Work Permits as the Area Operator (AO) and as the Isolating Authority (IA) when required.
- Foster teamwork between Maintenance and Operations groups.
- Support work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and complement other work groups.
- Keep the CRT informed about operations and major issues.
- Ensure good communication between areas to address issues and complete actions.
- Keep a daily log and shift changeover notes.
- Safely perform physical tasks, such as moving drums of chemicals and climbing ladders/silos/tanks.
- Make process changes to ensure quality control of end products within accepted standards.
Skills and Qualifications
- Industry experience in operations or similar roles required.
- Extensive knowledge of production operations/processes.
- Proficient in reading P&IDs, PFDs, and UFDs.
- Ability to read shutdown logic diagrams.
- High standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude, and ability to cultivate the same in others.
- Excellent communication skills (oral & written) in English.
- Advanced understanding and operation of Emergency Preparedness Procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of safety management tools and processes, including Permit to Work (PTW), Step back 5x5, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Risk Assessment.
- Understanding of Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS), safety management tools, and Production Operations Best Practices (POBP)/ Planning & Budgeting (P&B) processes
